Burnley’s first goal was controversial because replays show that it came from a corner which should not have been given as the ball last touched Jeff Hendrick in a challenge with Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen. The aftermath of the game then saw a furious Mauricio Pochettino and his Spurs coaching staff confront referee Mike Dean and the officials and at one point the Argentine has to be pulled away from them by Burnley’s Phil Bardsley. It’s likely to lead to a charge from the Football Association for the manager as it has been revealed Dean will include the incident in his report of the game.An angry Pochettino confronts Dean as the final whistle goes5

Pochettino unsurprisingly kept quiet on what was said between him and the officials when interviewed by Sky Sports straight after the game. However, the Spurs boss admitted he was in the wrong for the way he reacted when speaking to the written press minutes later. And a few Spurs fans took to Twitter to have their say on Pochettino berating Dean after the game, with some believing he was right to point out the referee’s ‘incompetent’ performance.Others claimed Spurs lost the game because the players didn’t play very well so Pochettino’s anger was misplaced.
