Bayern Munich and Manchester City in talks over transfer of Leroy Sane – reports
Bayern Munich have held discussion with Manchester City over the signing of Leroy Sane, reports claim.The Daily Record report the Bundesliga side have been granted permission to hold talks with the Germany international’s representatives with a view to agreeing personal terms.1

Sane started just 21 matches this season

Bayern were beaten to the signing of Sane by City back in 2016 but they have reaffirmed their interest in the winger – and the move will also have permutations for other Premier League clubs.Should the Bavarian club sign Sane it could pave the way for a club to move for Lille sensation Nicolas Pepe, as Bayern have been frontrunners for the Ivorian forward.Chelsea and Man United have been monitoring the progress of Pepe, who has had a superb season in Ligue 1, netting 20 goals and adding 11 assists in 36 matches.

And although the Premier League champions would prefer to keep hold of Sane, he has rejected numerous attempts from the club to tie him down with an improved contract, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2021.City’s director of football Txiki Begiristian does not want to run the risk of losing the tricky forward for free and wants a new deal to be agreed as to make a profit on the ex-Schalke man. Sane is believed to be disappointed with his playing time this season, having started just 21 league matches – and although he has been a top performer this season with ten goals and ten assists this season, his relationship with Pep Guardiola is believed to be fractious.Bayern want to add Sane to their ranks as part of a huge summer overhaui of their squad.The five-time European champions have already agreed deals to sign full-backs Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez from Stuttgart and Atletico Madrid respectively.
