Arsene Wenger: Possible destinations for former Arsenal boss, including Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Real Madrid
Arsene Wenger looks set to return to football within a month and a number of potential destinations have been touted for the ex-Arsenal man.Wenger left the Gunners at the end of last season after 22 years at the club and took a short break from the game.He is understood to be itching to get back to work and The Times reports he has four offers on the table, including a national team and two top European clubs.4

The former Arsenal boss will not manage in the Premier League, though, as he does not want to disrespect his former club.Here at talkSPORT.com we have looked at the likely destinations for the 69-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain (director of football)

This appears to be a firm job offer with the Ligue 1 club keen to bring Wenger on board.Thomas Tuchel is the current manager at PSG and is currently 10 points clear, with two games in hand, at the top of the French league.What the Paris clubs owners desire is a Champions League title and bringing Wenger on board may be seen as a way to achieve that.4

Wenger will not return to the Premier League, though

A national team

The Times reports that one of the offers is from a national team and it is unlikely to be his home country of France.Didier Deschamps is well-established as manager and is unlikely to be replaced having just won the World Cup.Joachim Loew has enjoyed great success with Germany and won the World Cup in 2014 but suffered a group stage exit in 2018. Germany could be a possible destination if they decide they want a change after 13 years of Loew. Fernando Santos led Portugal to the European Championship trophy in 2016 but they crashed out of the World Cup in the round of 16 stage. He has been with the country for four years and Wenger could be a suitable replacement should they decided to make a switch.Spain, Holland and Italy have all employed new managers in the last 12 months and are unlikely to cut them loose.

Two top European clubs

Wenger spent seven years at Monaco from 1987 to 1994 and won the Ligue 1 title in his debut season. They are a club in crisis at the moment after sacking Thierry Henry and replacing him with Leonardo Jardim, who Henry had initially replaced.Monaco would certainly be a challenge for Wenger but he has history with the club.4

Santiago Solari is the current Real Madrid boss but there have been rumours that he may be replaced at the end of the season.Madrid are currently eight points behind Barcelona in La Liga and he may need success in the Copa del Rey or Champions League to keep his job.Wenger reportedly had discussions with the Spanish giants while he was still in charge of Arsenal and they could look to him again to solve their managerial problems.Reports in Italy earlier this season suggested that Wenger was in line to replace Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan after a poor start to the season.4

Milan were 12th in October but have now battled their way back up to fourth. The Italian club have not finished in the top four since the 2012/13 season and this could be why they may look to Wenger who had a history of consistent top-four finishes with Arsenal.Bayern Munich are currently seven points off Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga and manager Niko Kovac is reportedly under pressure.Reports in Germany suggested they could look to the experience of Wenger to try and guide them to the title.
