As always, it’s been a very exciting weekend in the Premier League.There were matters at the top and bottom of the table to be addressed and there were all sorts of twists in the race to finish in the Champions League spots.Below you can see a review of the weekend’s action.

ARSENAL 2-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

The Gunners have an impressive home record this season and extended their streak to 15 league games without defeat at the Emirates Stadium with a 2-0 win.Granit Xhaka’s long-range effort caught out David De Gea either side of United hitting the frame of the goal before a contentious second-half penalty allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to seal three vital points in the race for Champions League qualification.On a day where Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish was attacked by a Birmingham fan running onto the field of play, an Arsenal supporter appeared to run into Chris Smalling as he invaded the pitch after Aubameyang’s goal.While it seemingly lacked the malice of the St Andrew’s incident, questions will be asked of how the invader was able to cover so much ground before being halted.

LIVERPOOL 4-2 BURNLEY

NEWCASTLE 3-2 EVERTON

Ayoze Perez scored a late double as Newcastle fought back to win a five-goal thriller on an afternoon Everton keeper Jordan Pickford will want to forget.Pickford had earlier escaped a red card after conceding a penalty which he saved, but was beaten three times inside the last 25 minutes as the Magpies roared back to snatch a priceless 3-2 victory.Marco Silva’s men looked to be coasting after Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison had given them a 2-0 lead either side of Matt Ritchie’s missed spot-kick, but Salomon Rondon’s strike set up a grandstand finish in which Perez struck twice inside three minutes to help the Magpies claim a fifth successive home win.Ritchie missed a penalty but Newcastle won anyway in a five-goal thriller11
