The January transfer window is a time when mangers can tinker with their squad and add players to improve their sides for the second half of the season. Or in some cases panic buy in a desperate effort to stave off relegation. Not all players that are brought in are successes and the 2018 window was no different. Here is a round-up of all the January signings Premier League teams made last season and how they got on at their clubs.16
Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Borussia Dortmund (57.38m)The Gunners have definitely started to see a return from their investment in the striker. He has 26 goals in 42 games for the club and has formed a formidable partnership with Alexandre Lacazette.Verdict: HitKonstantinos Mavropanos – PAS GiannianaThe 21-year-old has been suffering from a groin problem that has kept him out for a few months this season. The centre-back has only featured three times since signing but he still has a lot of time to develop.Verdict: Jury is still out Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Manchester United (swap)He moved to Arsenal in an exchange deal for their best player Alexis Sanchez. The Armenian has shown glimpses of the player he was for Borussia Dortmund, including three assists against Everton and a goal against former club United, but he has been far too inconsistent.Verdict: MissGetty16Bournemouth
NoneBrighton
Jurgen Locadia PSV (14m)Locadia was their club-record signing but struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and only made six appearances in the rest of that season. The forward has played a bigger part this season but still only has two goals in 18 appearances.Verdict: MissLeonardo Ulloa Leicester (loan)Ulloa was a big hit at Brighton in his first spell at the club between 2012 and 2014 where he scored 26 goals in 58 games, albeit in the Championship. He could not reproduce that goalscoring tally on his second spell, this time on loan as he managed just one goal in 10 Premier League games.Verdict: Miss16Burnley
Aaron Lennon – Everton (undisclosed)Lennon credits Burnley as having saved his career and restored his love of football after some mental health battles. He has made 30 league appearances for the club but has a knee injury that could keep him on the sidelines for a while.Verdict: Hit16Chelsea
Ross Barkley Everton (15m)The 25-year-old played just two league games in the entirety of last season but has been a key part of Maurizio Sarris plans at the Blues.Weve not see the levels of play we saw at Everton but he may be on his way back to his best.Verdict: Jury is still out16Crystal Palace
Jaroslaw Jach – Zaglebie Lubin (undisclosed)The 23-year-old is yet to make his debut since joining and is currently on loan in the Turkish Super Lig.Verdict: MissErdal Rakip – Benfica (loan)Did not make any appearances for Palace during his loan spell.Verdict: MissAlexander Sorloth – FC Midtjylland (9m)The transfer deadline day signing didn’t score any Premier League goals and has since gone out on loan to Gent.Verdict: MissEverton

Jack Harrison – New York CityA highly rated winger who was selected as number one overall in the 2016 MLS draft. Impressed in the MLS and was brought over to Man City.He was immediately loaned to Middlesbrough and then Leeds this season, who are top of the Championship.Verdict: Jury is still outAymeric Laporte Athletic Bilbao (57m)Helped City to the Premier League title this season and is an assured presence in the defence for Pep Guardiola.Verdict: Hit16Manchester United

Martin Dubravka – Sparta Prague (loan)Impressed on his loan spell and that move was made permanent in the summer. Has gone on to establish himself as the number one goalkeeper.Verdict: HitKenedy – Chelsea (loan)He is now on his second loan spell with the club and performances have been inconsistent. In one game against Cardiff, he became the first player since 2010 to play a half without completing a pass, while later he missed a penalty in added time which would have won the game.Verdict: Miss16Southampton
Guido Carrillo Monaco (7.6m)The striker has failed to impress after signing from the Ligue 1 club and is currently out on loan.Verdict: MissStoke City
