Tottenham should have to play the remainder of their Premier League matches this season at Wembley, Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has claimed.Warnock’s side lost at home to Spurs on New Year’s Day, falling to a 3-0 defeat which moved the Lilywhites back up to second.Cardiff also lost 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in October, in a match which was due to be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when the fixture list was released last summer, but ended up being held at Wembley.2

Tottenham’s new ground was due to be opened in time for their Premier League clash against Liverpool on September 15, butongoing delays mean the new ground still has no official opening date.The clash against Manchester United on January 13 had been pencilled in as a potential first match at the stadium, but that was ruled out as a possibility last month, with their next home fixture after that coming against Watford on the penultimate day of the month.Despite the delays, Tottenham look certain to move to their new stadium before the end of the season, and they are likely to play at least a third of their league matches at the arena. However, the north London club should be forced to remain at Wembley for the rest of the season, according to Warnock, to prevent Cardiff’s opponents gaining any advantage.“The league should enforce they play at Wembley for the rest of the season,” the Bluebirds boss said.“There shouldn’t be any chance of an advantage for our opponents. It’s not our fault – we should have been playing at the new stadium ourselves.2

“I think they should step in now and rather than seven or six weeks, they should make it until the end of the season now and enforce it now.”Cardiff’s New Year’s Day defeat to Tottenham leaves the relegation candidates three points clear of the bottom three in 16th.Three of their relegation rivals have yet to play Tottenham in an away match this season, with Spurs to host Newcastle in February and Crystal Palace in March before welcoming Huddersfield to either Wembley or their new stadium on April 13.
