Tottenham Hotspur Stadium latest: Fans believe stadium could be opened NEXT WEEK as Haringey council pass Road Traffic Order for March 16
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans believe the first game at the new stadium could be NEXT WEEK.Haringey Council have passed a Road Traffic Order on Tuesday evening for an event at the new Spurs Stadium in excess of 10,000 people on Saturday 16 March 2019.The new stadium could well be opened on March 16@Lilywhite_Rose2
The new stadium could well be opened on March 16
The protocol falls under the category of a ‘Major Event’ and will result in the closure of several roads around the stadium to all vehicles – including cyclists.According to The Gazette, the following roads will be shut:
  • Worcester Avenue will be closed from 8am on March 16 until 1 hour after the conclusion of the Event
  • Love Lane and Whitehall Street will be closed from ‘up to three hours’ before the advertised start time of an Event until 1.5 hours after the conclusion of that Event
  • Tottenham High Road, Church Road and Park Lane will all be closed ‘from up to 3 hours before the advertised start time of an Event until 1 hour after the conclusion of that Event’
Spurs are without a fixture currently for that day as they are waiting to confirm when their fixture against Crystal Palace will be rearranged for. However, it could well just be a test phase as the order is FROM March 16 – meaning the first game could be a while later.
