Manchester United manager latest: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on his future in Old Trafford dugout
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to be drawn on rumours claiming he will become the next permanent manager of Manchester United.Solskjaer is expected to be handed the job on a full-time basis having excelled as caretaker manager since succeeding Jose Mourinho last December.2

Solskjaer has brought the ‘Manchester United DNA’ back to the club, according to Sir Alex Ferguson

Following United’s remarkable Champions League defeat of Paris Saint-Germain, which booked their place in the competition’s quarter-finals, Solskjaer is now the only man in the running for the position, reports claim.However, Solskjaer was unwilling to confirm he will take his place in the Old Trafford dugout on a permanent basis. “That’s just the media,” Solskjaer said in a press conference. “I am not here to get excited, I am here to do my job.“And of course that contract issue there, you cannot have two contracts when you’re a manager, so that contract was terminated.“I am contracted to Man United until the end of June.”

Despite Solskjaer insisting he will not be at the club past the end of the season, he did reveal discussions have been held regarding United’s plans beyond that date.He added: “As far as you need to look at pre-season weve looked into and you look at players, hopefully the ones will sign will stay for many many years so depends how you look at that.”Solskjaer did hint at his desire to be offered the job, however.“I love managing these boys,” he added, “I love working here and as I said so many times Im just doing the best I can every single day. If and when it comes for a decision to be made weve got to think about that.”Solskjaer has been looking ahead to summer signings and pre-season plans, but his main focus now is Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.2

They just need to have another couple of days training with the team. They’ve done well with their recovery work.”
